“Among the many challenges we had to face in 2020, the digitization of many processes was the most urgent one. Remote sales platforms, acceleration of e-commerce both on a B2B and B2C point of view and last but not least, the completion of the archive, a real treasure in the heart of the company that has now been renewed and made available to our customers.”
Says Alessandro Tessuto, President of Clerici Tessuto.
“We are working to make sure that the next generation of the company is ready to face a rapidly changing market. The textile system has changed more in the last 6 months than in the last 10 years and we want to keep up with new customers looking for new and sustainable products.”
The Clerici Tessuto textile archive is a flagship of the company, the only fully digitized in the Silk District of Como, connecting also the headquarter with the offices in New York and Paris. Inside the archive, clients can find collections of textile samples, drawings, catalogues and ancient books acquired in 98 years of the company’s history.
The numbers represent a true passion for quality and textile manufacturing, in all its expressions: a collection of 10,000 hand-drawn sketches and 20,000 books, a collection of 200,000 jacquard samples and 180,000 printed ones, 40,000 accessories, 7,000 finished garments and 2,000 embroidered items.
The highlight of it all is the digital touch screen table collecting all the contents of the archive in digital format and accelerating every search process that a customer can do, multiplying the responses to complex requests, about drawings, variants and color combinations.
Sara Tessuto, Head of Communication and the new generation within the company confirms: “Our customers are looking for high-performance answers to their creative needs and the Clerici Tessuto digital archive is a perfect machine, managed by a state-of-the-art algorithm.”
